If they get the plugins working with their own PL, I'd pay at least double the current ask, but until then, nah, I'm good. But it's a PITA to jump from PL to PS and back, especially in my usual situation of not needing layers to do what I want. I also have the Google version of the Nik collection and PS CS6 on Win10Pro. It's a bit of a PITA to use the Nik 'plugins' with it. #Dxo nik collection 2018 upgradePull out your CC and buy it, its very good software but whats the incentive for people who have a perfectly fine working version to spend money and upgrade. Oh no, they bought the software and now selling it. #Dxo nik collection 2018 trialIf you bothered to read what I first said in the thread instead of just running your mouth you would've seen I was game to try the trial version with the intention of purchasing if it improved on the original but DXO did SQUAT to it and is just tryin to make a few bucks. Then buy it off DXO if you feel so strongly about it, Go ahead. You all that only know the Nik Collection as free live in a fantasy world to think that if DxO wants the modest sum they're asking for it (what, $69?) and that's some exorbitant ripoff price, great, you just start charging $0 for the work you do. #Dxo nik collection 2018 for freeJust because Google (they of the multi-billions of dollars of spendable cash money) acquired Nik and decided to give it away for free doesn't mean it wasn't worth what it originally went for. Thank you for explaining, after reading the comments around the web I'm not even gonna try the trial version because it seems there's no difference and I have no trouble at all compared to other folks, it seems DXO is just tryin to raise some money off of rebranding the same software.īut given how competent this software is it was worth it. There's mention on the DxO forum that some changes have been made to improve stability, so if you're having crashes, or a new version of your current editing software stops working with your current Nik plugins. I haven't downloaded the DxO version because they (like the Google version) do not work with PhotoLab, and the ones I have installed are working fine. If you want to be safe, maybe download the 'google' version, so you can uninstall the DxO version, re-install the Google version. #Dxo nik collection 2018 installYou mean the original version you have installed? The DxO version will very probably not install to the 'Google' directory the free version used, so there won't be any interference. Īfter checking around online it seems DXO made very little /if any changes to the program so I may pass giving the trial version a try because I'd be worried what'll happen to the original version when the trial expires , it's been free since I discovered it and find it a very useful plug-in that I use often. Obviously my bad timing but I can't help feeling a bit ripped off! I bought this software for several hundred dollars before the Google acquisition.
